Big Picture Thinking

Since 2002, WM SSI has saved WM over $6 million by using innovative technology, equipment consolidation and service optimization. WM SSI works in the best interest of the client and utilizes in-house or third party resources necessary to improve the process and reduce costs.  Customers use remote access video along with alarm system data to analyze site-specific activity – a competitive advantage.

Case #1

WM Security Services can provide high quality images of cash transactions. Time and date stamped video detects both customer and employee manipulations that can allow unauthorized or discounted service.

A large Fortune 500 customer saw an immediate return on investment, when a video system was installed at a large operation with multiple cash transactions daily.  The cash drawer was located in a remote area and the employee in charge had minimal supervision.  A newly installed video camera provided real time images that could be synchronized with each financial transactions.

A veteran employee was soon caught on tape using a voided ticket scheme to embezzle company funds. The employee would accept cash for a transaction, and then void it in the system as if it were cancelled, and pocket the cash.  When confronted with the video, the employee confessed to long-term activity that pre-dated the cameras. He was terminated and prosecuted. The evidence led to a felony theft conviction and a court order for $25,000 restitution

This one recovery more than paid for the cost of the video system and sent a message that security, safety and personal integrity are high priorities.

Case #2

A large distributor of building materials with more than 370 warehouses, retail outlets throughout the country hired WM SSI to consolidate multiple alarm vendors with varying service packages, individual invoices and a wide range of prices. The existing alarm equipment was not used uniformly and provided little benefit to management and the internal security department.

WM SSI improved delivery and invoicing of alarm services and provided the client with access to “intelligent monitoring” data that has real business applications.  For example, the client used system reports to dispute vendor claims of onsite activity and detect suspicious and unauthorized access by employees.
